Originally a painter, Amr Anwar shifted into the world of fashion design after the COVID-19 pandemic, seeking a new way to bring his creative visions to life. His journey into fashion wasn’t by chance—it was a deliberate decision to merge his artistic background with high-quality craftsmanship. To refine his skills, Amr trained in some of the top ateliers in Egypt, where he gained hands-on experience in cutting, pattern-making, and sewing. This deep dive into the “kitchen” of the fashion industry gave him invaluable knowledge about the intricacies of production, from design to finishing.
These foundational experiences shaped his expertise and led him to launch Chicoril in 2022, after spending over a year working in prominent ateliers across Egypt. It was during this period that Amr honed his understanding of both the industry and himself, solidifying the vision he had for his future with Chicoril. With a focus on artistic integrity and precision, Amr continues to break boundaries, fusing his painter’s creativity with the technical prowess he developed in the ateliers.
